Closer than close

Why a Guru solves all of your problems.

A Guru is not a person, but a phenomenon – one that people either want to be as far away from or as close to as possible. I tell you what the Guru is really about and why he changes your life completely and solves all your problems.

About this Video:

This video was made after I attended the last discourse of Swamiji, my Guru. Someone asked me: why does this Guru keep such a great distance from people – it was about 30 metres this time –, and this question inspired me to talk about the phenomenon of the 'Guru'.

For most people, there is something almost threatening about a Guru, as if they are not to be trusted. Others, on the other hand, want to be as close to the Guru as possible, like with really good friends. But many people don't know what a Guru is really about, and so it remains incomprehensible why a Guru keeps his distance and refuses to talk about your personal problems – and why he makes all the problems in your life disappear for this very reason.

I talk about the real gift a Guru brings into our lives and how this leads to all our problems being solved – especially the ones we are sure there can be no solution to.

Of course I know that all this remains unbelievable as long as you have not experienced it yourself, in your own life. And to this I invite you: to experience for yourself how your life changes without you being able to explain how this is possible – simply by starting to meditate.

Good morning.

One and a half weeks ago, I attended a discourse my Guru, Swamiji, gave here in Germany, and I actually had the plan to make a video about this encounter, and how it was for me, and what happened afterwards. But somehow, I can't. Somehow, it's not possible to describe it like this for me.

But when I answer questions I receive about Swamiji or when I answer questions about life and life's problems, then again and again, by itself, I have the opportunity to talk about these things. I can't do it directly. And I received an email where a woman tells me her impression about something she saw about Swamiji, and this gives me the opportunity to talk about it again. This is what I want to do this morning.

Why the Guru remains distant

A few days before this discourse with Swamiji took place, I sent a newsletter to all my subscribers, and in this newsletter, I informed everybody about this upcoming discourse, and I invited everybody who feels like it to come and to attend this. And in this newsletter, I also sent a photo of the last discourse Swamiji gave here in Germany, which was last year in autumn.

And on this photo, you can see how Swamiji sits about 30 meters away from the people who were listening to him. This event took place on a small football field. About 350 people were sitting on this football field, and Swamiji was sitting 30 or 40 meters away from the people. And when this lady saw this photo, she was kind of shocked about this huge distance Swamiji was keeping from the people, and she wondered about why this is. And about this, I want to talk in this video.

And this gives me the opportunity to shed some light on what's going actually on with a medium of God, a medium of Life likes Swamiji, and why this is so valuable, and how this solves all of your problems in life. So, I want to begin with reading out this email I received.

"In your last newsletter, I got a real fright when I saw in a photo that Swamiji was sitting 30 meters away from you doing this discourse. Jesus always mingled with the people, and he was approachable. At first, I thought I couldn't do the Samarpan Meditation because it just wasn't right for me. But after some reflection, I'm happy to continue with the meditation, and I'm grateful to Swamiji for offering this short meditation to us.

I keep attending seminars by two other wonderful people, and they are in our midst, and they have a great love for humanity and live selfless love with a very high level of consciousness. A lot always happens to me and the others at these seminars, and afterwards, the process of realization and transformation always continues.

We sit very close to them, and if there is a personal issue, we sit with them on the couch and are lovingly guided towards realization and transformation. At this time, there are other very young people with a high awareness who are leading us into love and unity. So, this distance of Swamiji to us frightened me."

Thank you. Thank you for your letter and this report.

Yes. In in the beginning, it looks really weird. Why does he do this? Why does he keep such a great distance – seemingly? You say that Jesus was approachable; that Jesus was mingling with the crowd. Well, we don't know this really. We only know the reports of some people sharing their experience with what happened back then.

And it is difficult to really know what was happening, because everything is relative. I want to tell you what I mean by this. You say, Jesus was approachable, he mingled with the people. Now it is like this. Jesus was an extraordinary Guru. He was really unique in his greatness. And Swamiji, my Guru, from whom you saw this photo, he is of the same caliber, and he talks about this, how it is to be such a Guru.

He went to the Himalayas, and there he met a total of 11 or 12 – I forget the right number – different gurus, one after the other. Swamiji... there was a phase in his life where, in the course of about 20 years, he was again and again traveling into the Himalayas, into completely remote corners of this huge area where nobody lives, no civilization, no people. And there, in the middle of nowhere, he met a Guru, a Guru who lived completely isolated, without any contact to society.

And after that, he returned. And then, later, he did another journey into the Himalayas and met a different Guru. Sometimes, he was sent from one Guru to the next. So, he met a total of 12 of these amazing beings.

And what they do is that they spend their lives in complete isolation, and all they do is turn inwards, meditate.

They become more and more sensitive, more and more empty, more and more thoughtless. They merge with nature. They become one with nature, and they become one with their own nature. Swamiji calls this the soul.

The dry sponge will absorb water

And these Gurus, they become so sensitive, and they become so pure, so empty, that they virtually become unable to go back to society.

You might not be able to understand this because you are used to live here. But these Guru left society, so they can become more sensitive, purer, and they describe it like this... They say society is like a coal mine. And when we when you become pure and empty, when you become a Guru, and that is the destiny of every human being, then you become... it's like, then you have a white dress on, pure white: no thoughts, no ego, no identity.

And the purer you become, the more sensitive you become, the whiter your dress becomes, the more easily it gets dirty when you go into society.

And they say that society is like a coal mine. They speak about thought pollution. Where these Guru live... for hundreds and hundreds of miles, there are no other human beings around them, no thoughts. You cannot even imagine how this is. They are empty. And when you become so empty, you become like a sponge. When a sponge gets in contact with water, it sucks up the water. And when you become so empty and so pure, when you get in touch with normal people in society, with their thoughts, with their energy, then you take this on, and it's unbearable.

They are empty. And when you become so empty, you become like a sponge. When a sponge gets in contact with water, it sucks up the water.

And when you become so empty and so pure, when you get in touch with normal people in society, with their thoughts, with their energy, then you take this on, and it's unbearable.

And it goes so far that these Gurus who discover the secret of life, they discover the path to liberation, they discover the path to Heaven, they discover the path back to paradise, to true happiness. But in the course of this discovery, they become so sensitive and so pure that they can't go back. They don't even want to go back. They are happy. There is no reason for them to go back, and they couldn't.

These Gurus who discover the secret of life, they discover the path to liberation, the path to Heaven, the path back to paradise, to true happiness.

But in the course of this discovery, they become so sensitive and so pure that they can't go back. They don't even want to go back. They are happy.

And that's why society doesn't know about these Gurus. Nobody can approach them if they don't want it. They have an aura so vast, so strong, it's 100 miles around them, and if they don't want, nobody can enter this. And that's why nobody knows about them.

The purer, the more watchful

But it was the destiny of Swamiji to meet those Gurus. They were waiting for him, and he could meet them, and he became like them. And when he was there, he became completely thoughtless as well, empty, receptive, pure, white.

And he didn't want to go back to society either. But then, something amazing happened. The Guru he was with, he sent him back. He said, you have to go back to society. Your destiny is different. Your destiny is to bring back what you received from me to society. And Swamiji didn't want to go back. He said; "I don't want to go back. I want to stay here." Swamiji was completely happy. He was merged with God. And then this Guru tells him: "You have to go back." He didn't want to. Swamiji was married, still is.

He had kids, but he had forgotten about them. There were no thoughts and no memories in him. He was not identified with his body anymore. These Gurus are not in their body anymore, they are pure souls, and Swamiji became himself a pure soul in the vicinity of such a Guru. So, he didn't want to go back, but the Guru sent him back. He said: "Your destiny is to go back. You have to do this." So, Swamiji came back, and then, he did the next journey, met the next Guru. And the next Guru told him exactly the same thing.

He became even more pure with this next Guru. He became even more a holy, pure soul, and also this Guru told him: "You have to go back. Your destiny is to bring this to society." And this happened with all of these twelve Gurus in a course of 20 years. So, Swamiji is like such a Guru, like such a Guru who never wants to go back and who never can go back, but he came back. This in itself is a miracle.

And so, he has to do it in a way where he can be in society without getting polluted again; in a way that his completely white dress doesn't get black in this coal mine of society, where everybody is thinking all the time; where nobody knows anything about soul, where everybody is completely identified with their body and with their problems, with their feelings.

And one way to do this is that he keeps distance to people. Otherwise, he couldn't be here. So, I wanted to put this 'being approachable' and 'being in the midst of people' a little bit into perspective. There is this Guru who usually would be somewhere deep in the Himalayas, unknown to anybody, and he comes back into society, into the midst of people.

He makes himself approachable, so people can experience the vicinity of such a medium in society, where they live. So, he makes himself totally approachable. He is in the midst of people. That doesn't mean that he lets the people come close to his body, but he is here.

And with Jesus, it was the same. It doesn't say anything in the Bible about the life of Jesus before he started preaching in Judea. there's a little bit of information about his childhood, a few sentences about how he was disputing with the priests in the synagogue, in the temple.

But other than that, we don't know what happened to him, how he got transformed into a Guru. And because we don't know this, in the Christian church, it is described as if he was born like this. But also Jesus met Gurus. Also Jesus was with people like these amazing Gurus whom Swamiji met. And he decided to come back. That was the gift of Jesus to humanity: he came back. He could have stayed where he was, happy and merged with God, but he came back from the Himalayas, or wherever he was. I don't know. And he made himself approachable. What this meant, physically, we don't know this.

The effects of the coal mine

I experienced this with my Master Soham, my spiritual Master, whom I met 25 years ago. I was living with him for 20 years, basically every day. And with him, it was kind of similar in so far that he was and he is more sensitive than all the other people around him. And he had to protect himself.

He was meeting people, and he still is meeting people in Satsang. He is sitting there, people can visit and talk to him, but he keeps his distance. And outside of these formal meetings, he is completely alone, all the time. That is to protect himself.

And then, there is a few people, his team – I was part of his team for these 20 years, I still am, but we don't travel anymore; that's why I can now live in my home and make videos... But for 20 years, we were traveling. I was part of his team. And those few people who were familiar with him, who had learned from him and who themselves got a little bit more sensitive and a little bit quieter than the rest, those people he could allow close to him. For With those people, he could sit at a table and eat and cook and share everyday life, just like Jesus.

Jesus had his 12 disciples, those 12 humans who were spending all of their time with Jesus, so they became a little bit softer, a little bit more open, a little bit more pure. So, Jesus could allow them close to him, closer than other people. But my guess is that other people couldn't come so close. And I'm sure that Jesus also spent a lot of time alone. People report about when Jesus met people, because this is what people know about. But most of the time, Jesus was alone.

And there are also reports about what happens to beings who are so sensitive when they don't take care of themselves properly. With Jesus, you can see that. He got crucified. I guess he died, or maybe he didn't die. Maybe he survived this crucifixion, but he disappeared. Either he had enough, he realized, I can't do it like this. This kills me, literally.

Or, he really was killed... because he brought this purity into society. And when this purity comes into society, this purity takes on everything. That's why people got so relieved in the vicinity of Jesus. He took on their bad energy, their thoughts, their problems, and that killed him. But he was doing it willingly, just to give a few people the chance to taste him.

The advice of Ramana Maharshi

Swamiji once told a very interesting story. He said that in one of his meditations, Ramana Maharshi, a great Guru from India, was visiting him. Ramana Maharshi was living, I think about a 150 years ago, in India, in Tiruvannamalai, at the foot of the Arunachala mountain.

And Ramana Maharshi made himself approachable as well. Every day, he was sitting in in his meditation hall, and people could visit him in the evening and be very, very close to him. Sometimes, they could ask questions; sometimes, Ramana Maharshi was speaking; but most of the time, he was just quiet.

And he died of cancer. And when his body became ill, when the cancer came, his disciples said: "Ramana, what can we do? How can we help you?" And Ramana Maharshi laughed. He laughed and said: "You want to help me? Where do you think this cancer comes from? It comes from you. You can't help me." He knew it. He made himself available, so that people could taste him, and that killed him. This didn't kill him, but his body.

And Swamiji said that Ramana Maharshi visited him in a meditation, and Ramana Maharshi told him: "Don't make the same mistake as I did. Protect yourself." And that's what Swamiji is doing. He keeps a distance to the people. And today, it's possible. The world changed. The energy of the world is different. And today, it's possible for us to taste Swamiji without destroying him. That is why he keeps this distance to people.

Maybe you experience this yourself on a small scale too. Sometimes, you meet people, and afterwards, you feel completely trashed. Maybe you met people and they are totally restless souls, full of thoughts, full of worries, and you spend a few hours with them, and afterwards, you feel like a trash can, and this is because you took on their energy. When you are more sensitive and more aware of somebody else, you will take on their shit. And that's while becoming more and more sensitive, you also have to become more and more wise in maintaining your purity.

That's why I keep distance. I love these video Satsangs. I'm totally close to you, but not physically. I need my space. I need my room to maintain my purity. Soon, I will give on-site Satsangs. In August, I will be in the Black Forest. In Freudenstadt, there is a spiritual festival, and there, I will have six Satsangs. When I am there, when I am meeting people, I will keep my distance so my energy can remain pure.

Otherwise, I don't have anything to give. I also made it a habit of not looking people into the eye. I look at people. I look them in the face. People think I look in their eyes, but I don't. I look between the eyes, here, and this protects me, because when you look into the eyes of somebody, through this connection, you take on their karma.

And then, I don't have anything to give. I have to take care of myself, and you have to take care of yourself. And that is what Swamiji does for himself, and as an example.

That's why I stopped hugging people. Sometimes, I still do it, out of joy of meeting somebody, out of habit, but it's not good for me. I can feel it. I am still learning.

The level of the Guru

But there's a second aspect to this, and this second aspect is even much more important than the first. The thing is this... These Guru I was talking about, these Gurus who live in the Himalaya, away from society, they reach a thoughtless state. Their identity, their identification with the body, dissolves. They discover their true nature, which is not being a body, but being this soul which lives in a body while you are on Earth.

And that is the reason... When you come close to a Guru like Jesus or to a Guru like Swamiji, you come close to a being who is pure soul, who has nothing to do with this body, who has no thoughts... And that's why it is so healing and so amazing to come close to such a being, because this automatically allows you to come closer to yourself as well. When you are close to a Guru, by some magic, you come closer to yourself. And through this, you feel so well. Through this, you get healed.

That is why people got healed around Jesus. He allowed himself to be close to those people so they could taste his beingness. It is not what he says.

But he lives in a different way. He doesn't live as a body – and with body, I don't only mean the flesh; this physical existence consists of this body, but also of the thoughts. The thoughts are also part of the body, and also the emotions, the feelings; this is all part of the body.

He doesn't live there. You cannot imagine this, because all you know is this physical existence, this body, your feelings, your emotions and your thoughts.

But he lives somewhere else. He lives as a soul. He still lives in a body, but he has nothing to do with this body. And when you come close to such a being, by some miracle, it becomes possible for you to be closer to your soul as well, and this is an amazing experience. Now, it's like he invites you to come to his level, because the Guru is on the soul level.

You have the opportunity to taste this level as well.

If he would come down to your level, to the physical level, he could make you physically happy because you get nice feelings, or he could solve your problems, but the real gift you wouldn't get. The real gift is that a door in you opens, a door which was closed before for eternity, and now, for the first time, you begin to taste how it is when you come close to your soul. It's a completely new way of being. But he can only give you this gift when he remains where he is, on his level. And then, for moments, you can taste it.

The Guru is on the soul level. You have the opportunity to taste this level as well. If he would come down to your level, to the physical level, he could make you happy, but the real gift you wouldn't get.

The real gift is that a door in you opens which was closed for eternity, and now, for the first time, you begin to taste your soul.

It's not about being close to the Guru

So, such a Guru is a completely different category of being, so to speak.

And I just told you: it's not about you being close to the Guru.

The magic that happens is that you come close to yourself through the invisible example of the Guru.

That's the magic. That's the blessing. If the Guru would allow you to come closer to him physically, sit at his feet, touch him, your whole attention would be on this proximity, on this physical closeness. But that's not where the magic happens. This would distract you from that what actually is happening. And that's why this Guru doesn't allow you to come close. And all Gurus do this.

It's not about you being close to the Guru. The magic that happens is that you come close to yourself. If the Guru would allow you to come closer to him, your whole attention would be on this physical closeness.

But that's not where the magic happens. And that's why this Guru doesn't allow you to come close.

Some Gurus allow you to sit close to them, but you can sense their distance. They don't allow you to come close. Maybe you sit 3 meters away from them, but they are like in a glass bowl, and you can't come close to them. And that's on purpose. The Guru, he is totally... or, if it is a female Guru, she is totally inside, and he or she wants to invite you to come inside of yourself. That's the closeness which counts.

But normally, we don't know about this level. All we know is the physical level, and that's where we look for closeness, that's where we look for intimacy, that's where we look for the solution of all of our problems, and that's where we look for happiness. But on that level, as you know, there is no such thing.

There is no solution to your problems. You can solve one problem. You have a great workshop. It solves your problem. But a week later, you have the next. Or you feel totally intimate, and you feel such a unity with all these people there. But a week later, you feel even more lonely, and you feel even more unhappy.

The Guru is totally inside, and he wants to invite you to come inside of yourself. That's the closeness which counts.

But normally, we don't know about this level.

All we know is the physical level, and that's where we look for the solution of our problems and for happiness. But on that level, as you know, there is no such thing.

A Guru just gives you something else. A Guru invites you into a new dimension of living. In a way, he throws you back onto yourself, and that's the great, great blessing.

A Guru gives you something else. A Guru invites you into a new dimension of living.

In a way, he throws you back onto yourself, and that's the great, great blessing.

There is nothing wrong with all these beautiful things which are happening between people. There is nothing wrong with all these workshops, and there are so many beautiful people who share their being and their knowledge with other people.

But it is not the end. That is just the beginning.

And once you start tasting this soul level inside of you, then you will know what Iam talking about. Then, you still experience these beautiful encounters with other people, but you will notice: "Oh, how interesting. It's lovely. It's so beautiful, but actually, doesn't give me anything", because you tasted something else, and then you know: "Ah, that's where it is!"

And then, the other becomes uninteresting. Or then, you still experience problems in your life, but you will notice: "Ah, yes, there's a problem, but, actually, it doesn't matter", because you already know something else. A part of you already lives somewhere else.

So, depending on where you are in your life, there is the right help for you, and what you find totally helpful and beautiful today will become uninteresting for you tomorrow when you grow closer to yourself; when you discover your soul more and more.

This happens through the Samarpan Meditation where you practice this letting go of all this physical every morning. And this comes through the invisible gift of a Guru. And the Guru doesn't even have to be close to your physically. It's like, Swamiji's blessing is already with you just because you listen to me. You don't have to be in India for this. It's already too late. You're already blessed. I don't do anything.

And at some point in your life, this blessing will sprout and transform your entire life. That's when you turn inwards, and then you know: "Ah, that's where I want to go."

It is about the Inside

And Swamiji, he really encourages people not to focus on this physical experience of closeness. He says: "This is distracting you from what is really important." It's so tempting. It's so lovely. He says: "Don't look at my body. Look with your inner eye; look at what flows through me, the energy", the energy which has nothing to do with the Guru you see in front of you.

And he doesn't encourage you to look at his photo, but he gives us his energy picture. What you see here right behind me, that's a painting of Swamiji's energy body. It's a symbolic picture, so to speak, to help focus on his energy. He doesn't want us to look at his photo, at his face, at his body. He says: this is misleading you. But we have this life-long habit on focusing on the obvious.

We focus on what we see, what we hear, what we can touch. We focus on what we can experience immediately, and that's why we love these very intimate encounters with other people, like in these workshops, so very much. But Swamiji says: "That what's really important, that what is really worth your attention, is something else." And that's why he discourages us from this focus on the physical.

And that's why he doesn't encourage physical closeness (to him) either. He even says: for the disciples, it's usually easier to connect with the Guru energy when they are far away from him. Because when he's close, when they can see him, it's automatic... You can't help it. It just happens that you focus on this person, on this body, on this man. But then, you have your focus not inside of you.

You have to focus out there. Okay, it is the body of a Guru, but that body doesn't give you anything. But when you focus inside, there you feel the energy of the Guru. And that's why for most people, when they come close to him physically, they notice that they feel further away from him than when they were alone. That's the secret. That's why the Guru does not encourage these physical encounters.

The one solution to all problems

That is also the reason why the Guru doesn't talk to you about your personal problems and about your life problems. He only speaks about the solution. He always speaks about soul, about meditation, because when you discover your soul, when you become a soul yourself through meditating, through letting go, through drinking a Guru, then all your problems are being solved. But when you focus on the problems, when you try to solve them, you will find that this is not possible.

And even if you can solve a problem, the next problem is just around the corner. In this life, you cannot solve your problems on the physical level. You cannot solve the problems of your worldly life on a worldly level. It is impossible. And you see it in your life, and you see it in the world: endless problems everywhere. Nobody ever reached the solution to all his problems on that level.

That is the reason why the Guru doesn't talk to you about your personal problems and about your life problems. He only speaks about the solution. He always speaks about soul, about meditation, because when you discover your soul, when you become a soul yourself, then all your problems are being solved.

That's why in my videos, I do the same. I can't help it. I know the solution. I only talk about the solution, and I invite everybody to write me their questions and their problems. But my answer is always the same. In one way or another, I always tell them: "Turn inwards. Meditate. Let your soul consciousness grow." And the more this grows, the more all the problems disappear, one after the other.

That's why... Some people wonder. People come to the Guru with all kinds of problems, and the solution the Guru has is always the same: Just Meditate. That's what Swamiji says: 'Just meditate.' Then the next person comes with a completely different problem, a huge problem, and Swamiji listens and says: 'Okay. Meditate.' He says: 'Meditate, and your problem will disappear.' And that's the truth.

People come to the Guru with all kinds of problems, and the solution is always the same: Just Meditate. That's what Swamiji says: 'Just meditate.'

Then the next person comes with a completely different problem, and Swamiji listens and says: 'Okay. Meditate.' He says: 'Meditate, and your problem will disappear.'

And that's the truth.

That's why the Guru doesn't focus on your problem. He doesn't invite you to talk to him about your problems.

He doesn't sit down with you on a couch to discuss your life. He wants you to rise to his level, because he knows: once you are there, all the problems are gone. I do the same. I don't allow people to have a conversation with me and discuss things and chew on problems again and again, because this would invite you to spend more time with your problem.

I do it differently. You can write me about your problem, or in a Satsang, you can tell me what your problem is, and then I will invite you to come where I am. And then you experience: "Oh, there is no problem." And if you are really smart, then you will decide: "Ah, here I want to stay."

That's why the Guru doesn't focus on your problem. He doesn't invite you to talk to him about your problems. He doesn't sit down with you on a couch to discuss your life.

He wants you to rise to his level, because he knows: once you are there, all the problems are gone.

And people experience this. Swamiji says: meditate, and all of your problems will be solved. And people experience this. They start meditating, or they write to me, and I tell them: hey, meditate the Samarpan Meditation. And it doesn't take long, a few months later, and a miracle happens, and the problem they thought unsolvable is solved. People come and they describe problems, and they are convinced that there's no solution for it.

They say: 'There is no way. The way life is and the way the situation is, there's no possibility that this can be solved. What should I do?' And I tell them: 'Meditate. Be patient. Meditate.' And then, a few months later, they write back, and they say: 'It's a miracle. How is this possible? I didn't know that this is possible. The problem solved itself.'

They say: 'There is no way that this can be solved. What should I do?'

And I tell them:
'Meditate. Be patient.'

And a few months later, they write back: 'It's a miracle. How is this possible? I didn't know that this is possible.
The problem solved itself.'

Two kinds of people

And then, there are two of people. The one kind is those who come and they tell their problem and then they hear: 'Okay, meditate', and then they meditate, and then their problem gets solved. No matter what the problem was, the problem gets solved. And then, when their problem is solved, they stop meditating. They disappear, because all what they really wanted is the problem to be gone. They never were really interested in meditation or in spirituality. They just wanted to have their problem solved, and once the problem is gone, they are gone.

But there is also a second kind of people. And those people, they come... The problem is what brings them to the Guru. The problem is what brings them to Satsang. The problem is what brings them to meditation. But then they start meditating and the problem disappears and they are happy, but in the process, they discover: 'Oh, wow. This is what I was looking for all of my life. This is actually my path.

I want to stay here.' >They discover... Suddenly, that's how it was for me... Suddenly, I discovered: "That's what I was waiting for all of my life. That's what I was waiting for since countless lives. Now I found my path." And those people, they stick with the meditation. They stick with turning inwards, with trusting the Guru or whatever, trusting life, trusting God, and then they develop, and they become more and more soul, and all their problems get solved, no new problems happen, they are just becoming more and purer and more and more happy.

But there is also a second kind of people. The problem is what brings them to meditation. But then they start meditating and the problem disappears and they are happy, but in the process, they discover: 'Oh, wow. This is what I was looking for all of my life. This is actually my path. I want to stay here.'

That's the reason for the distance. That's the reason why there are beings who do not invite you on the couch, who do not invite you to come close to them. They push you closer to yourself, and everything else is a distraction.

And this really solves all the problems. And, you know, it's funny. Once you taste a little bit of soul, once you taste a little bit of your inner peace, when, by some accident, by some miracle, you begin to walk on the spiritual path, then life gets really interesting. Because then, life really shows you that in this physical life, in this worldly life, there is no end to the problems. There is no solution to your problems. There is no lasting happiness.

That's the reason for the distance. That's the reason why there are beings who do not invite you on the couch, who do not invite you to come close to them.

They push you closer to yourself, and everything else is a distraction. And this really solves all the problems.

And that is why then you experience one problem after the other, and all the problems you experience now seem unsolvable. And this is a gift of life. This is to help you realize: The direction is inwards, not outwards. And I received two emails where the tells me about their problem which is typical for this. You know, you experience a problem, and you just don't know what to do. It seems impossible. And I would like to read those emails to you, I want to say a little bit about it, as an example what you can do to solve this problem for good.

Life really shows you that in this physical life, in this worldly life, there is no end to the problems. There is no solution to your problems. There is no lasting happiness.

And this is a gift of life. This is to help you realize:
The direction is inwards,
not outwards.

Solving the unsolvable problem

I read out the first of these two emails.

I translated this letter into English. The original is a German letter, and I just need to look up the original word. Yep. Now I have it... "I've been exposed to really bad mobbing since November. I'm really being bullied, and I can't leave. The person who is mobbing me is a tenant in my house, and there, in this house, my boyfriend also lives, so I'm there frequently. This mobber, this bully, has received 2 warnings, and my property management has been called in, as has my lawyer. But somehow, I still have to deal with it.

I feel hated, and I feel provoked to the core because of all the lies. And I'm very exhausted, and now I'm depressed. I suspect that the whole thing is being fed by my half-sister in the background. She got disinherited by my father, and I was the beneficiary. The tenant and she are in contact, and I also have the impression that both of them are narcissists, because these projections and the anger and hatred they have are not appropriate to the situation. How can I deal with the situation and with the feelings inside of me?"

Thank you for your letter. This is a very good example for such a situation. You are in a situation. You can't leave. You have this house. It's your income. You have to take care of it. And then, there are these people who make your life miserable, and you don't know how to solve it. And it pushes all of your buttons, and it brings up all of your emotions.

Now, I could start talking to you about what to do practically. I could tell you how you could deal with this narcissist, with this mobber, with this bully. I could give you hints how to deal with your emotions. I could help you come into a better state. But this wouldn't solve the problem, because next week, you would have a new problem, because you're still totally identified with this physical life of yours. You think this is your life. You think this matters, and you think that's where the solution is, somewhere there... You can't see the solution.

You think there's none. But that's where you look for it. Now, I tell you that there, you will never find the solution permanently. As I said: you might be able to solve this problem, but then, in no time, you will have the next. Now my invitation for you is: start meditating. You deal with the situation in some practical way. It doesn't matter how you do it. It doesn't matter at all. Leave it to your lawyer. If the guy doesn't pay his rent, go to court. Other than that, it doesn't matter what you do. But meditate. Start turning inwards.

It's like you leave the situation, you stop taking care of it, and instead, you turn to that what is really important in your life, that what has always been important in your life, but you have ignored it until now. And I promise you: when you meditate for a while, when you take your attention away from this seemingly impossible situation and put it where it belongs, to your inside... I would say: "to your soul", but you don't know what that is.

When you do the Samarpan Meditation, when you learn to rest in the crown chakra every morning, then you begin to live in a different way. Slowly, slowly, you will have your attention more and more inside of you, here, with the Guru energies, with life, with God. And then you will experience something amazing. You will experience that this problem will get solved, and you don't know how this is possible. I don't know how it will happen practically, but I know that it will happen.

When you do the Samarpan Meditation, when you learn to rest in the crown chakra every morning, then you begin to live in a different way.

And then you will experience something amazing. You will experience that this problem will get solved, and you don't know how this is possible.

And then, stay there. Also when this problem is being solved: stay there. This is life teaching you: "Hello. You look in the wrong direction."

Life doesn't only tell you that the solution to the problem is not there. Life also tells you: this is not what it is about in the first place. And then you start meditating, you bring your attention more and more inside, more and more, all the time, no matter what you do practically in your life.

You can work, you can deal with your tenants, you can deal with your lover, you can make love, you can go shopping, but you live inside. And your whole life will transform. And when you experience this for the first time with this problem, then you will know: "Ah, that's how life works", and then you just stay there. That is my invitation to you.

And then you start meditating, you bring your attention more and more inside, more and more, all the time, no matter what you do practically in your life. You can work, you can deal with your tenants, you can deal with your lover, you can make love, you can go shopping, but you live inside.

And your whole life will transform.

The Master Key

And I would like to read a second email, also with a problem of this caliber.

"Dear Mikael, my 22-year-old daughter lives with us on the farm in her own little house. She has a dog, and she loves the dog dearly. A few days ago, this lovely 5-year-old dog attacked and bit a visitor. Thank Goodness the wound is not very deep, and the wound is healing well, and our visitor was extremely calm about it and very understanding. However, I'm now on red alert.

This event has triggered a wide range of emotions in all of us – we are a family of 5 – and especially in my daughter and in me. This process has now reached the point where I specifically told my daughter that she is no longer allowed to let her dog run free in the garden without a leash. And my daughter replied that she although she takes my words to her heart, that she would treat her dog as she sees fit and not as I want it.

As a mother, I have always found it very difficult to set clear boundaries for my 3 children. I was either too compliant or incomprehensibly impulsive, and I often overreacted. It was a pattern I was very familiar with even before I had children: giving in and accepting for a long time, and then, when the barrel was full, reacting far too aggressive and inappropriate. The hierarchy in our family was and is also shifted.

And although I have known this for a long time, I have not been able to make any lasting changes to it. This incident makes all of this totally clear to me. I keep choosing the paths suggested by you and Soham. I also suspect that this incident could be part of a good process that might now make something very clear and which might help us to bring our little community and family into more order and balance. At the same time, I'm unsure how I should behave in this situation."

Thank you. So lovely that you write.

Yes, here it is the same.

I could now speak to you about how to deal with your situation practically, but I give you a better solution. I give you the Master key. Like in a house... in your house, you have a different key to all of your rooms, so you have a big key chain. But in a big office building with hundreds of rooms, this is very impractical for the housekeeper, so he has a general key which will open all the doors. Now, we can now talk about how you can deal with this funny relationship you have with your daughter.

I can talk to you about how you bring this family back into balance, and so on. I can talk to you about how you can balance your inner life and your emotions. But when I do this, you will be able to solve these problems, but tomorrow you have 10 more problems. This is not very efficient. Instead, I want to give you the Master key. I tell you: keep meditating. Or, if you don't meditate, start the Samarpan Meditation, and just know that the solution will come by itself. Do whatever is needed practically, but, practically, the wound of the visitor has been dealt with.

I give you the Master key: keep meditating. Just live your life, do your work, enjoy your family, and trust that all the problems you see will solve themselves. Let them go, and you instead meditate, you instead take care of the one and only thing which is really important, and that is to let your soul grow.

That's all. There is nothing to do. Just live your life, do your work, enjoy your family, and trust that all the problems you see, all the problems you write about in your email, will solve themselves. Let them go, and you instead meditate, you instead take care of the one and only thing which is really important, and that is to let your soul grow. You live on a farm. You know how it works when you want to grow something. You need to take care of it. Every week, you have to go out into the field and take care of the field and the crops.

That is what you do with your soul. Turn inwards.

Your attention... when this attention goes inwards, that's the sun letting your soul grow. And you meditate: that's the fertilizer. Do this every morning. And other than that: trust, be patient, just like you do as a farmer.

You have to do the appropriate things so you know: everything will grow properly. And that is what you do with your soul. Turn inwards. Your attention... when this attention goes inwards, that's the sun letting your soul grow. And you meditate: that's the fertilizer. Do this every morning. And other than that: trust, be patient, just like you do as a farmer. You take care of your field, and then you have to wait. You can't make anything grow. It all grows by itself. You can only make the circumstances right.

That's what you do for your soul – make the circumstances right. Give your attention inwards, and meditate. And I promise you that in a short time, this, what you are writing about, will be nonexistant, and then you stay with it. Then you realize: ah, that's how you live. But by that time, you will not only have experienced that the problem disappears by doing this, but you will also have experienced by then a totally new taste of happiness, a totally new taste of freedom, and you will want to go further on that direction.

You can't make anything grow. It all grows by itself.

You can only make the circumstances right. That's what you do for your soul – make the circumstances right. Give your attention inwards, and meditate.

Yes, that's why I don't want to talk about the specific problem. It doesn't help you. This would take it way too seriously. When a Guru sees your problem, the Guru doesn't see any problem at all. The only problem the Guru sees is that you are far away from yourself. And when you are far away from yourself, problems sprout everywhere.

But the closer you come to yourself, the better your soul grows, then everything is free of any problems. I experienced myself in my life. Just yesterday again, I had a problem. I didn't know what to do. I was totally unable to change another person's mind about an issue. I just turned inwards, like I always do, and by the evening, the problem was gone. It was gone.

When a Guru sees your problem, the Guru doesn't see any problem at all. The only problem the Guru sees is that you are far away from yourself. And when you are far away from yourself, problems sprout everywhere.

But the closer you come to yourself, the better your soul grows, then everything is free of any problems.

That's how life works.

And that's why I invite you and everybody else to meditate. Through me, you get the trust that this will actually work. But then, it's your own experience, and that is what will keep you on the way.

The living Jesus who is here now

I have another email I want to read out, a very short one.

The lady who wrote me this email told me about her life and what's happening there. She wrote me a report, but then at the very end, she had a question, and I will just read out the question. "Now to my question. How do I get to a Guru or a teacher? Can that be you?"

Thank you for your question. I feel honored, and I would like to talk a little bit about this. I am not a Guru. The Guru is here. We have a living Jesus amongst us right now with Swamiji. Now, if you can turn to him, to this living Jesus, then do this. You can still listen to me if you like. I love it when you are here. But don't forget: there is a living Jesus here on this earth, right now, and you can connect to this living Jesus inside. You don't even have to travel to India.

Just know that God is in your life. Meditate, and trust that this will solve everything. And if I can help you with what you feel when you listen to me, to trust this, oh, then I am very happy.

We have a living Jesus amongst us right now with Swamiji. You can still listen to me if you like. But don't forget: there is a living Jesus here on this earth, right now, and you can connect to this living Jesus inside. You don't even have to travel to India. Just know that God is in your life. Meditate, and trust that this will solve everything.

You can turn to my Master, my spiritual Master, Soham. When I sit in his Satsang, it is such a blessing for me. It is such a blessing. It changes my life every time I am there. Next weekend, I will be there again. I will take care of the equipment, the technique, for a few days, and it is such a blessing for me. Being connected to such a soul is so much help. It solves all of your problems. Trust me.

And if you can't do this either, then, if you like, stick with me. But don't forget: it's not about you being close to me, it's not about you being close to Soham or you being close to Swamiji. But when you surrender to your Guru – whoever that is, that's your decision. I don't care how you call me. If you want to call me Guru, you can do this... What really happens when you surrender to a Guru is that you come closer to yourself, and that's what does all the good in your life: your own soul.

But don't forget: it's not about you being close to me, to Soham or to Swamiji. What really happens when you surrender to a Guru is that you come closer to yourself, and that's what does all the good in your life:
your own soul.

Swamiji says: "I'm here only as long as you need until you become your own Guru." That's the truth.

So, it doesn't really matter from where you draw your trust.

Some Hindus take a stone. They paint the stone red, and then they decide: "This is God. I have God in my life." And then they surrender to this God in the form of a stone. And it works, because they become open. They trust.

So, just do it the way which is right for you. Where you feel the trust coming from to you, that is your Guru for now. But don't forget: I am small. Soham is big. Swamiji is huge.

Thank you for being here.

So, I said, I tell you the same things about all of your problems, all of your questions. I always say the same thing: Turn inwards. Meditate. But at the same time, I want to tell you that I'm so happy to receive your letters. If you want, write to me. On my website, there's a page called 'Ask Me'. There's my contact information. I'm happy to receive your questions. I'm happy to receive your answers. I'm so happy to take each and every one of your questions and problems and show you the way. The way is always the same, but I am so happy to tell you again and again and again.

I tell you the same things about all of your problems, all of your questions. I always say the same thing: Turn inwards. Meditate. I'm so happy to take each and every one of your problems and show you the way. The way is always the same, but I am so happy to tell you again and again and again.

Support me if it gives you joy

And now, at the end, I want to mention one thing. I usually forget this, but today, I actually remember. You know, everything I do, all my videos, all my Satsangs, they are free. You don't have to pay for anything. And it will remain this way in my life. No matter what I will do in the future, it will always be free. You can always see me, listen to me, come to me, write to me free of charge. And the reason for this is simple: that what comes to you through me has nothing to do with me.

It is not mine. It is not that I give you something from me, and you give me money for this. What you feel coming from me is the same thing I receive as a gift every day. It just flows through. It's nothing I can sell and nothing I want to sell. So, there's no money involved. It's all free. But for practical reasons, I'm very grateful when people support me financially. So, if you feel joy to support me, I'm very, very happy. And it's easy. On my website, there's a page 'Donate'.

On that page, you can find information how this works. And then it's easier for me to find the time and the strength to do videos, to do Satsangs, to answer all the emails and all the letters, and to buy the equipment and all the things I need to do what I love to do most: be here and share with you. But, as I said: everything is free. There's no obligation. The only reason is: if you feel joy, then I'm happy, then you can support me.

I am so happy that you are here.

I am so happy that you are here. I love you.
